Are You Looking for Pilates Catered to the Midlife Body?

As we move through our 40s and beyond, our bodies respond differently to exercise. Hormonal shifts can affect joint comfort, muscle recovery, balance, and overall energy. Pilates for the midlife body focuses on alignment, controlled strength, mobility, and breath , helping you move with more ease, stability, and confidence. This is not about pushing harder, but about moving smarter in a way that supports where your body is now.

At Feminique Wellness Studio, Pilates is taught with a deep understanding of these changes, focusing on alignment, controlled strength, mobility, and nervous system support. This approach helps you move with confidence, reduce pain and stiffness, and build strength in a way that supports your body now — not how it used to be.

Thoughtful Pilates for the midlife body — personalised, supportive, and intentional.

Precision & Alignment

Every session begins with proper setup and alignment. In midlife, how you move matters more than how much you do. I focus on precise positioning, mindful transitions, and awareness so your joints, spine, and pelvis are supported - reducing strain and building strength safely.

Strength That Supports Your Body

My teaching prioritises building strength that feels stable, not aggressive. Through controlled, progressive Pilates movements, we strengthen muscles around your joints, hips, and core to support everyday movement, improve balance, and reduce aches and stiffness common in midlife.

Movement With Awareness

Pilates here is not about copying movements - it’s about understanding them. I guide you to feel where movement comes from, how your body responds, and what it needs. This education helps you move with confidence, adapt to changes, and carry these skills beyond the studio.

services offered by my studio

Personalised movement, strength, and recovery support for midlife women.

Private Pilates session

Private Pilates offers personalised sessions tailored to how your body moves and feels at this stage of life. Each session focuses on alignment, controlled strength, mobility, and breath to support joints, spine, core, and pelvic floor. This approach is ideal for midlife women who want to move safely, reduce pain and stiffness, and build strength without strain or overwhelm.

Midlife-Focused Movement

Midlife-focused movement is designed to support the body through perimenopause and menopause, when hormonal changes can affect joints, muscles, recovery, and energy levels. Sessions prioritise quality of movement, stability, mobility, and strength without strain. The goal is to help you move with confidence, reduce aches and stiffness, and build resilience that supports everyday life.

Pre & Post-Natal Pilates

Pre & Post-Natal Pilates supports women during pregnancy and after birth with safe, mindful movement. Sessions focus on posture, breath, pelvic floor and deep core connection, and gentle strengthening to ease discomfort and support recovery. Movement is adapted to each stage, helping you feel strong, supported, and confident as your body changes.

Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

Pelvic floor dysfunction can show up as leaking, pelvic pain, heaviness, core weakness, or lower back and hip discomfort. Sessions focus on restoring balance and coordination of the pelvic floor through guided movement, breathwork, posture, and gentle strengthening. Aim is to help the pelvic floor work effectively with the rest of the body, improving comfort and confidence in daily movement.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release targets tension and restrictions in the connective tissue that surrounds muscles and joints. Using gentle, hands-on techniques, these sessions help reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore ease of movement. This work is especially beneficial for women experiencing chronic tightness, stress-related tension, or feeling “stuck” despite regular exercise.

TRX Strength Training

TRX Strength Training uses bodyweight resistance to build functional strength, balance, and stability in a joint-friendly way. Sessions are adaptable and suitable for midlife women who want to maintain muscle mass, support bone health, and feel strong without high-impact training. The focus is on controlled movement, proper alignment, and strength that supports everyday activities.

im here to support your midlife journey!

about me

hello , i am nadhrah

I’m a mother of three, and my journey into Pilates began in 2009 after experiencing a sciatica injury following the birth of my third child. Pilates became my pathway back to strength and confidence and showed me how intelligent, intentional movement can truly support a woman’s body through change.

In 2011, I became a Pilates instructor and have been teaching ever since. Over the years, my work naturally evolved beyond movement alone. As I worked with more women, I saw how hormonal shifts from menstrual health to perimenopause and menopause deeply influence pain, recovery, energy, and how the body responds to exercise.

Today, I am both a Pilates instructor and a Menstrual & Hormone coach, blending movement with hormone education to support women across different life stages. Through Feminique Wellness, I run a coaching practice and studio dedicated to helping women move, train, and care for their bodies in ways that align with their hormonal rhythms — not fight against them.

At Feminique Wellness Studio, my approach is personalised, mindful, and rooted in education. I support women through pregnancy, post-natal recovery, midlife transitions, and helping them build strength, reduce pain, feel confident in their bodies with clarity and compassion.

Midlife Bodies Deserve a Different Approach

hljggjglgjlgjlgljhgllgggjglgl

Midlife is not a phase of decline - it is a period of profound transition. As women move through their 40s and beyond, hormonal shifts during perimenopause and menopause influence how muscles respond, how joints feel, how quickly the body recovers, and even how safe movement feels internally.

Yet many women are still encouraged to train the same way they always have, often pushing through pain, fatigue, or fear of injury. I focus my teaching on midlife women because this stage of life requires a more thoughtful, informed, and compassionate approach to movement.

Through Pilates, strength training, and hormone-aware education, I help women slow down enough to reconnect with their bodies, rebuild stability, and move with intention. My goal is not to push women harder, but to help them understand their bodies better so they can reduce pain and stiffness, regain confidence in movement, and feel strong, capable, and supported in this powerful phase of life.

Signs You May Need Private Pilates

If you’ve been attending Pilates or fitness classes but your body still feels stuck, sore, disconnected, or unsure, it’s not because you’re weak, unfit, or doing something wrong. Very often, it’s because your body no longer responds well to generic movement.

In midlife, our bodies change hormonally, structurally, and neurologically. What worked in your 20s or 30s may no longer feel supportive now. Joints may feel stiffer, recovery takes longer, old injuries resurface, and your core or pelvic floor may not respond the way it used to.

Group classes are designed to move many bodies at once. They simply can’t account for:
- hormonal shifts in perimenopause or menopause
- joint sensitivity or reduced load tolerance
- pelvic floor over-activity or weakness
- compensations that happen quietly over time
- day-to-day fluctuations in energy, sleep, and stress

When movement isn’t adapted to your body, you may start to:
- brace or grip instead of stabilise
- avoid certain movements out of fear
- push through discomfort hoping it will pass
- feel confused about what you should be feeling

Private Pilates offers something different.

It allows us to slow down, observe how your body actually moves, and build strength, mobility, and control in a way that feels safe and sustainable. Each session is adjusted in real time based on how your body presents that day, not a preset routine. This is especially important in midlife, where the goal is no longer “doing more,” but moving better.

Private Pilates is not about perfection or performance. It’s about creating the right environment for your body to relearn trust, coordination, and confidence in movement so you can feel supported not just in class, but in everyday life.

Your body needs modifications

  • You have knee/hip/back/shoulder pain (even mild, recurring)

  • You’re postpartum, peri/menopause, or feel more sensitive to load

  • You need rehab-style progressions (not random workouts)

  • You often think: “I can’t do this move… but I don’t know what to do instead.”

You’re not feeling right muscles

  • You can’t “find” your core or glutes (or you over-grip)

  • You compensate a lot (neck, shoulders, lower back takes over)

  • You’re confused with breathing + core connection

  • You leave class feeling more tense than strong

You want results faster + safer

  • You want a plan based on your body + goals, not a generic sequence

  • You’re worried about injuries, flare-ups, or “getting it wrong”

  • You need accountability and progressive programming

  • You want to build strength for daily life (stairs, lifting, posture, energy)

If your body no longer feels supported in group classes, it’s time for a more personalised approach.

Private Pilates sessions are fully customised to your midlife needs from joint health and core connection to pelvic floor and recovery.
